CAG or SC cannot choose policies: Digvijay Singh

The AICC general secretary, Digvijay Singh said that the Comptroller and Auditor General, CAG, are not eligible to choose policies for the government. He mentioned that being a democratic nation, only the government chosen by the people as the power to choose a policy.

"Who will choose the policy, CAG or SC?," he questioned he he was bombarded with questions regarding the CAG report on the coal blocks allocation.

He also bashed at the CAG saying that it is merely an auditing agency but not the investment agency that had performed an opportunity cost audit. In the audit it has presumed that there was aloss of Rs 1.78 lakh crores. He added that "CAG in its report has not mentioned about corruption in coal block allotments, it has only assumed loss of government exchequer. The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has taken note of it and now the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the matter," said Singh
