Auto Driver Shot At South Delhi Over Fare Argument

In a yet again incident on firing in the capital, a 34-year-old auto driver was shot by two men over an argument erupted on paying the fare in southwest part of city at Chhawla area on Wednesday night, according to the reports.

According to the complaint filed by the victim, Umesh Pal, two men who earlier boarded his auto refused to pay the fare of Rs. 160. After the argument erupted both threatened him and asked to go away.

The police officer said, “When Pal tried to counter and raised an alarm, the duo strangled him. When Pal resisted, one of the men took out a pistol and shot at him. The bullet hit his shoulder. As he collapsed on the ground, the men ran away.”

Reports said, Pal somehow grabbed himself up and reached a nearby hospital. He was immediately rushed to the operation theater.

Pal has told the police that the two men who shot at him have stolen his belongings as well.
