Najeeb Ahmed Missing Issue: JNU Investigation Finds An ABVP Student Guilty In Assault

In an in-house investigation done by the Jawaharlal Nehru University in the matter of Najeeb Ahmed missing issue, an ABVP member Vikrant Kumar has been found guilty of assaulting Najeeb during an argument after which Najeeb went missing.

The 27-year-old Najeeb went missing on October 15. The student of biotechnology, who belonged to Badaun in Uttar Pradesh went missing after an argument with ABVP students including Vikrant occurred on the previous night.

The statement after the investigation read, “In the proctorial enquiry, Vikrant Kumar has been found to be involved in hitting Najeeb Ahmed and using derogatory language with provocative behavior on October 14. This is an act of indiscipline and misconduct.”

The alleged assaulter Vikrant has now been asked to show reasons why disciplinary action should not be taken against him. However, the ABVP has supported Vikrant and has alleged that the university administration was biased into the investigation.

Former JNUSU member and the ABVP member, Saurabh Sharma said, “The proctor has taken deposition of those students into account who were not even present there. Not only the enquiry is biased but even the administration is siding with the left-dominated students union.”

Several teachers and the JNU students have been continuously agitating against the JNU Administration as well as the Delhi Police over the failure of catching the missing student. They even confined the vice chancellor as well as other senior officials in the administrative building for over 20 hours.
