A woman gang-raped by a man in a moving Hyundai Santro car on Monday evening at Ghaziabad after she consumed a soft drink already mixed with sedatives, according to the reports. The woman was dumped near Lal Quan off NH-24.

An FIR has been registered into the case under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 376D (gang rape) of the IPC at the Sihani Gate police station against Virender Nagar, who according to the woman’s husband’s comments to a leading daily, was known to their family. Her husband, who paints houses, said that he with his rape-victim wife live at Noida.

He said to a newspaper daily, “My wife was not able to identify the other person who was accompanying Virender in the car. She had gone to Bhatia Mod in Ghaziabad for some work on Monday from from where the men picked her up sometime between 7 PM to 8 PM. They dumped her near NH-24 at 11 pm. The men kept driving the car throughout this period without halting anywhere.”

However, the medical test which was conducted on woman on Tuesday has been not checked by the experts as the results are still awaited.

Police said that the accused Virender had spotted the woman at Bhatia Mod. He lied to her about her husband’s accident and offered to drop her home. She was forced to consume a soft drink after than due to which she fainted.
