Shoe Attack On Rahul Gandhi During A Rally; Blames BJP And RSS

Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who has been promoting his party in Uttar Pradesh was attacked by a man with a shoe during a rally. However, the shoe missed Rahul Gandhi narrowly. Mr Gandhi has blames Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

While addressing the gathering later, Rahu Gandhi said, “I was just traveling on a bus and a shoe was thrown at me. It didn't hit me. I want to tell the BJP and RSS that you can throw as many shoes at me but I am not backing down. I am not scared of you. I will continue believing in love and harmony and you can stick with hate.”

According to the reports, Rahul Gandhi was riding in an open-top vehicle through Sitapur twon, around 85 km from here, when shoe came flying at him. It hit the person behind him, who was a former Union Minister Jitin Prasada.

The man who threw the shoe, Hari Om Mishra has been arrested. Claiming to be journalist, Mishra, while being led away in a police-van said, “The Congress has left the country in the dumps in the past 60 years. I have been a journalist for two years and I know...What were they doing when they were in power?”

Rahul Gandhi is on his ‘Kisan Yatra’ in UP to reach the farmers in the state and to promote his party for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
