Although polar bears are not native to Iceland, many polar bears have been found in the country after being drifted from the ice flows in Greenland. Reports also stated that in summers the animals try to enter through swimming.

In Iceland, there is a policy to shoot the polar bears at sight. The government thinks that the polar bears are aggressive animals and after traveling huge distances they can prove harmful to the people as they would be hungry.

CEO of Institute of Natural History, Jon Gunnar Ottosson said, “These are dangerous animals, not some cute teddy bear.”
