According to the reports, a month old bay girl has been listed into the top e-commerce site eBay for 5000 euros and police are investigating the matter further.
The listing of the baby girl, which was identified as Maria, was taken out by the auction site within half an hour. According to the listing, Maria lives in the city of Duisburg in Western Germany’s state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Her ad was titled as, “Child, 40 days old named Maria for sale” and included images of baby wearing a variety of sleep-suites. The post went quickly viral on the social media. Report said that it’s not yet clear that the seller actually wanted to make money through the listing or was it mere a joke.
Spokesperson of eBay Pierre Du Bois said, “We received a lot of complaints from users and we immediately pursued the matter. In such a case, we provide the authorities with all available information.”
“We immediately ban these providers. We have specially trained teams which keep track on such cases and quickly react,” he added further.
