A diver who was helping a team to catch a shark on an island in Mexico, remained inside the cage when the shark was thrashed into it, the incident was recorded in a video, which has been uploaded on YouTube.
According to media reports, the shark didn’t intent to attack on him and instead was biting a line on which a piece of tuna was fixed as bait.
A man who has uploaded the video described, “When a great white shark lunges and bites something, it is temporarily blinded. They also cannot swim backwards. So this shark lunged at the bait, accidentally hit the side of the cage, was most likely confused and not able to swim backwards, it thrust forward and broke the metal rail of the cage.”
The witnesses immediately opened the top of the cage from which the shark swam back into the ocean and the man got out of it successfully.
The man who has posted the video said, “The diver is a very experienced dive master, remained calm, and when the shark thrashed back outside the cage, the diver calmly swam back up and climbed out completely uninjured.”
