A man threw acid on his wife, suspected her of having an affair and the incident took place at Vasai yesterday morning. The woman has been badly injured and her body was almost 20 per cent burns, she sustained injuries on face, hand and stomach.
As per cops, accused is identified as Ajay Raut who is working as a rickshaw driver have got married to Aarti, his wife 15 years ago and she works in a private firm as a clerk. The couple has fallen in love with each other while Ajay would drive Aarti to and from her college.
Meanwhile, Raut who had doubt on his wife decided to destroy her face and the couple have two children. One month ago they both had a huge fight and she left to her mothers house. In an anger and drunken state he went to his wife place with a acid bottle and Aarti saw him at her place and went to meet him, he flung it at her.
She was immediately rushed to Sir D M Petit Hospital in Vasai and doctors stated that she is out of danger but she was burned almost 20 per cent. Ajay also previously fought with his wife and beat her many times. He had always doubted her character and once she consumed poison to kill herself, but doctors managed to save her life.
