Anurag Thakur Becomes Part of ICC’s Finance And Commercial Affair Committee

The International Cricket Council has made the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Anurag Thakur a part of its powerful Finance and Commercial Affair committee after the completion of its board meeting in Cape Town on Saturday.

According to the reports, the F&CA is considered as the most powerful decision making sub-committee of the ICC as all the revenue related financial aspects are first passed through this committee.

The decision came after the BCCI raised the objection about not having an Indian member in the F&CA committee and termed it as a humiliation with Shashank Manohar being the chairman of global body.

However, according to the reports, when Anurag Thakur became the president of the BCCI he automatically became the part of F&CA committee. A report said, “The rule states that since Anurag has been made Chairman Development Committee, he is also a member of the F&CA, Executive Committee (ExCo) and Governing Committee.”

The BCCI had also raised the objection over the proposed budget for the next year’s Champions Trophy and according to the board their absence from the committee has been one of the reasons of it.
