Union Steel Minister demands CBI inquiry on riots

Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma demanded the Uttar Pradesh government, CBI inquiry on the Muzaffarnagar riots. Verma addressed a press meet at his residence on Tuesday and attacked the ruling government in state and insisted upon Akhilesh's resignation on moral grounds. For an honest approach into this matter, UP government should seek CBI's help.

Verma also claimed that the Samajwadi party as an anti-minority government. “SP has ditched the minorities and it failed to protect the rights of the community. The people realized their mistake and for sure they will vote to Congress in coming Lok Sabha elections.”

The Union steel minister said his ministry will use corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds to set up five relief camps built of steel to protect victims from the winter chill. He also said the ministry will fund the distribution of dry rations, winter clothes and blankets to the riot victims.
