India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 67th birthday today. He has come to his home-state Gujarat ans seek his mother’s blessings on birthday.
Heeraben Modi, 97, offered the PM a special sweet which she made for him and they chatted for a while. Later PM touched her feet and left for the future endeavors. He later tweeted,

PM Modi, who met the state’s new chief minister Vijay Rupani and several other BJP leaders at the Governor’s Palace, will later fly to Dahod in Central Gujarat where he will inaugurate an irrigation scheme and address a rally of tribals.
In Navsari, PM will distribute disability aid kits to 1,000 beneficiaries to set a new Guinness Book of World Records.
This is PM Modi’s third visit to Gujarat, where the elections are going to be held soon and the BJP leaders believes that frequent visits of PM Modi to Gujarat, where he was the chief minister for 13 years before taking charge as PM in Delhi, would be critical for the party’s success.
Meanwhile, before PM Modi’s arrival in Gujarat on Friday night, Dalit activist Jignesh Mevani was detained at the Ahmedabad airport late last night on his return from Delhi, to prevent any disruptions in the PM’s event. Later this morning, he was released.
