Prime Minister Narendra Modi-Apple CEO Tim Cook Meeting

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc.,who is currently on his maiden visit to India,had a meeting with the prime minister Narendra Modi and discussed “Make In India” plans and possibilities of manufacturing and tapping the young pool of of the country.

The issue of cyber-security and data encryption was raised in the meeting of PM Modi and Cook.

An official statement said, “Cook shared Apple Inc's future plans for India. He spoke of the possibilities of manufacturing and retailing in India. He appreciated the breadth of young talent in India and said the youth have significant skills which Apple would like to tap.”

The CEO of the technology giant has already announced the new development centers at Hyderabad and Bengaluru for apps and maps and respectively which will be starting from the next year.

Cook, in his meeting with PM Modi discusses the immense potential of app development. He launched the updated version of PM Modi’s app at the meeting.

He described his experiences of his visit to Siddhivinayak temple as well as watching a cricket match at Kanpur and said in appreciation, in India, seeing is believing and added these experiences would definitely steer his business decisions.

While appreciating prime minister’s initiatives on renewable energy and ease of doing business he spoke of his plans to take the whole Apple supply chain on renewable energy, which currently runs on 93 percent renewable energy.
