Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal greeted the nation on the occasion of Maha Shivratri and wished them a happy Maha Shivratri.

“Good wishes to all of you on Maha Shivratri,” Mr. Kejriwal tweeted.

Millions of devotees across the country celebrate the Maha Shivratri festival Tuesday with fervor. The festival is believed to celebrate the wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Devotees stay awake all night, singing hymns and prayers, to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings. Temples witnessed long lines of devotees since early morning to offer prayers, flowers and fruits.
