LK Advani proposed as Presidential candidate by Modi, realty or rumour?

Zee News reports that, PM Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah has proposed LK Advani’s name for the next President of India in a party meet held at Somnath on 8th March. if reports are to be believed, PM Modi has hinted that this would be his gift or ‘Guru Dakshina’ to Advani.

Lal Krishna Advani is the most senior and highly respected political leaders in India. Known as the ‘Iron Man of India’, LK Advani has started his political career as a Swayamsevak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and has come a long way. He has served as Minister of Home in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government from 1998 to 2004 and was the Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

LK Advani was the person who has walked Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the path of India politics much before he became the chief minister of Gujarat. the Indian Prime Minister has not forgotten his ‘guru’ and has suggested his name for the country’s most prestigious position.

The Presidential election will be held in July this year and BJP’s astonishing win in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections has put the party in the front seat to get one of its own at the top spot. BJP will try its best to put the best possible candidate for the post of President and who can be a better option than 89-year-old veteran leader, LK Advani.
