A model and a television actor Mohit Khandelwal has become the first Indian, and first Asian as well, to win the prestigious Mr. World beauty pageant.
The 26-year-old model contested with 45 contestants and was awarded the title at the grand finale in Southport, United Kingdom on Tuesday.
After winning the title Rohit said, “I feel so privileged and humbled to be Mr World 2016. I would like to thank all my fans and all the people who have been giving me all their blessings. It is only your love and support that has been my inspiration to win Mr World 2016. It has been an amazing journey to this point, and I cannot wait to see what happens next.”
Fernando Alvarez, 21, holder of the title Mr. Puerto Rico was awarded as the first runner-up
and Mr Mexico, Aldo Esparza has been selected as second runner-up.
Mr. World official Facebook page also shared few photos from the ceremony.
He also has acted in many TV serials such as Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, MTV Big F and Million Dollar Girl.
Rohit Khandelwal was designed by the designer Nivedita Saboo and after the former’s win she shared a collage of pictures of Rohit.
Rohit shared a photo with Mr. World 2014 Nicklas Pedersen after winning the beauty pageant this year.
Rohit Khandelwal had to face 5 challenges in 12-day long beauty pageant and he was also won the sub-title of Mr. Multimedia for completing all of them.
