Sailor in iconic World War II 'kissing' photo passed away!

The prominence through black-and-white photo, the sailor would always be a young man. Someone who's locked in a kiss with a nurse in New York's Times Square to mark the end of World War Two.

The Houston Chronicle newspaper reported during Friday that Mr Glenn Edward McDuffie, who said he was the kissing sailor in the iconic Life magazine photograph, passed away this month at the age of 86.

Additionally known that for several years, several men had demanded with right to be the sailor in the photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt. In 2007, Life magazine's parent, Time, declared in detail that MrMcDuffie likely was the man, based on an analysis by a police forensic artist.

MrMcDuffie told the Chronicle in 2007 that he never spoke to the nurse in precedence of kissing her during celebrations to mark the end of fighting with Japan in August 1945. At the point of time he was known to be 18 years age.

Certainly a timeless kiss!
