A policeman was killed today when he intervened in clashes between armed student union members of the Congress and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Kolkata which happened when the students, some of who were carrying guns, attacked the policemen while another policeman was also reportedly shot at and is being treated at a local hospital.

Moreover, the violent clashes erupted at the Harimohan Ghose College in the Garden Reach area of Kolkata during ongoing student union elections and that rapid action force has be been deployed in the area to bring the tense situation under control.

To conclude, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the culprit won't be spared.
