Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone stood up for her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor's alleged girlfriend Katrina Kaif at a press conference.

As per reports, when a reporter asked Deepika whether her role in Happy New Year is a performance-oriented or 'showpiece' role. Deepika immediately asked to specify what showpiece role means, reporter mentioned Katrina's role in 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.

Deepika then replied stating that as per katrina she has worked very hard for the role and how can you call her as a showpiece.

She said, “I am just saying that the hard work and effort is still the same, whatever the role. Being a heroine is not easy, let me tell you that. It looks very glamorous and a great life but it is lot of hard work. Secondly, I don’t think I can comment on other people’s choice of films or other people’s choice of roles. Some things may appeal to me, some things may not. So I can only speak for the films that I have done,” Deepika said.
