There was a noteworthy news that has come into prominence from Aparajit Chakraborty from the Statesman. The news which emphasizes on the trams in Kolkata city which can run at a maximum speed of 90 km per hour, yet have to employ busily at speeds of 8 to 15 kmph. That’s due to  the trespassing by other vehicles on tram tracks at the same time traffic overcrowding.

Furthermore, it was known from the Senior officials of Calcutta Tramways Corporation (CTC) that they have expressed dissatisfaction to state transport minister Madan Mitra regarding this chaos. It was emphasized that the slow paced trams are not having any appeal on the passengers to travel in them. That's the reason why the corporation's revenue is experiencing bad impact.  

That's certainly a worrisome factor when it has contradictory sides, both having different ways to see at it. The age old trams in Kolkata has always been a great choice for the localities along with the foreigners who visit the city. It's in-fact part of the Kolkata's heritage. Yet it's disastrous condition due to fall in planning making the localities life hell while they travel in such tortoise speed when compared with the maximum speed. Now, another way that develop gradually here that in a crowded city like Kolkata which is otherwise an absolutely historical one, having ancient buildings, narrow lanes especially in the older part, its difficult to manage things so easily. But of course there can be some alternatives to it, if given a thought!   

There should be some change happening soon keeping in the mind the actual problem with trams track for the benefit of the people as well for the existence of the age old heritage. One obvious way would be perfection in traffic planning.
