Organize “Chai Pe Charcha” With Kashmiris: Sanjay Raut Suggested PM Modi

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has spoken with the media after all the parties of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) held a meeting over GST bill and the situation in Kashmir after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen leader Burhan Wani, and said to have suggested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have his popular “chai pe charcha” with Kashmiris.

Sanjay Raut who was also chairing the session told media that the discussions were largely on developments in Kashmir. He said, “While the Prime Minister began by briefing us on GST Bill, he went on talk about what is happening in Kashmir, what has been done and what is likely to be done in the coming days.”

“We told the Prime Minister that we have had enough dialogue with Pakistan and Nawaz Sharif. The Centre should now reach out to the people of Kashmir and also reach out to the security forces to lift their morale. To reiterate what I said today on the floor of the house, we should have chai pe charcha with the people of Kashmir,” he added.

Raut said that PM Modi has told that the government has nothing to hide on Kashmir issue and it is looking to get the support from all parties over it.

Earlier, PM Modi while speaking to media just before the start of Parliament’s Monsoon session, said, “This session takes place before India's Independence Day...I have spoken to all the parties over the past few days. Everyone is in the mood to take the best decisions in the interest of the country.”
