The Bombay High court has started to hear a bail plea filed by one of the accused in the Malegaon Blasts 2008 and former colonel Prasad Purohit. Earlier, the trial court as well as the High Court had rejected his bail plea keeping in mind his role in recovery of RDX in the case.

Purohit’s lawyer Shrikant Shivde argued in the high court before the judges Naresh Patil and Prakash Naik, that National Investigation Agency (NIA) had dropped all the MCOCA charges against all the accused in the case. He will continue to argue on law points on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a special NIA court has demanded a reply from the investigation Agency on Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and two other accused in 2008 Malegaon blasts case on an application filed by a victim Nissar Ahmed Bilal, a man who suffered in the blast on September 29, 2008 in Malegaon in which six people died, seeking to intervene in the accused bail plea.
