Huge blast has took place at the chemical factory in near the city and till now at least three people have been killed and several have been reported as injured in an unfortunate incident.
According to the reports, blast occurred in Herbert Brown Acharya chemical factory in Dombivli Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) phase 2.
The impact of the blast was extremely severe as it was felt up to an area of 4 to 5 kilometers and shattered the glass of several buildings.
A 23-year old woman who lives in Star Colony felt the shock waves at her home and the glasses at her house was shattered by the impact of the blast.
“Everyone thought it was an earthquake. Everyone has been vacated from the building as of now,” said the official.
Fire engines as well as water tanks have been called and rushed to the spot. The injured have been sent to the AIMS hospital and the area has been cordoned off. The mobile service in the are have been suspended, too.
