The Great Barrier Reef In Queensland, Australia has been named as the best vacation destination in a newly released ranking published by US News And World Report.

Great Barrier reef is the single structure of living organisms and it stretches for more than 2,000 km along the coastline of Queensland. It has already been taken under UNESCO’s wings as a Heritage Site.

It has been home to world’s various organisms of coral reef ecosystem. It consists 400 types of coral, around 1,500 species of fish and 4,000 types of mollusk and it covers area of 348,000 square kilometers.

Although it is world’s extraordinary ecosystem and an estimated 1.9 million people visit the area, the effects of global warming and climate have started to affect the place. According to scientists, our time with the natural wonder is running out.

Paris and Bora Bora in French Polynesia has remained on second and third rank respectively. Paris is currently hosting the UEFA Euro Soccer Games.
