A movie on sex workers named 'Kamathipura' accompanying the brains behinds it are all with an intention to showcase Konkana Sen Sharma playing the lead role. Interestingly, the film happens to be exploring the life of sex workers in Mumbai.

Furthermore to say, director Ankush Bhatt known to have told PTI that they had approached Konkana for this film. Due to the reason that they realized that she could do justice with role of sex worker. Yet she was not feeling easy with the role, due to that factor they are trying to gain confidence in her.  Mr  Bhatt expresses that he is not sure whether Konkana would agree with the role or what next. He added that the character would demand 18 to 60 years of age. There would be in totality five phases therefore they are looking for someone who can really justify this part at it's best.

At the same time, actress Sakshi Tanwar, who has played daughter-in-law in popular TV serials, will be seen as a sex worker in the film. This would genuinely be giving her a huge exposure as well as a bright scope to move on with a difference from the image of a traditional woman. Mr Bhatt expressed that the film would be having great huge cast meet up and that they have Sakshi in the film who would be playing the second lead.

In regard to the film, Bhatt expresses that the film is not about prostitution in totality. Yet they will show what they do in day time for their living while also throws light on human trafficking. They are no way celebrating prostitution yet they will showcase a different side of them in the film which is not explored by anyone which would also reflect the emotional agitation that they  have to experience. Mr Bhatt brings out the prominence that the movie is not based on any specific person. Mr Bhatt also says that once the cast is firm, the film would further on floors within couple of months. The film would be shot in Kamathipura which happens to be a red light area in Mumbai.

There should be no doubt in the fact that the role opted for Konkana is highly challenging, sensitive as well controversial. Yet another fact remains here that an high caliber actress like here can absolutely do justice to the role.
