Saina Nehwal Reached The Australian Open, Defeated World no. 2 Yihan Wang

The ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal today reached the final by defeating world no. 2, 2011 world champion and 2012 Olympic silver medal winner Yihan Wang of China by 21-8 21-12 in just half an hour in the semi finals on Saturday.

Saina Nehwal, who won bronze medal in 2012 London Olympics, will now battle against World no. 12 Sun Yu of China who defeated Li Xuerui in another semi final in summit clash on Sunday.

Saina was always ahead in the match after she tool 15-6 lead in the first game in defeated Wang with 12 match points. In second game as well, she was well ahead with 11-4 till the interval. After the interval reprimanding herself on wrong shots she successfully managed to beat Wang by 21-12.

Meanwhile in men’s semi final K Srikanth lost to Denmark’s Hans-Kristian Vittinghus in a 43-min semifinal battle by 20-22 and 13-21.
