Manish Sisodia To Appear Before ACB In DCW Recruitment Case

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will appear before the anti-corruption bureau on Friday in connection with the irregularities in the recruitment of Delhi Commission for Women. He had served the notice by the ACB in the first week of October.

Although the ACB has not disclosed Sisodia’s alleged role or involvement in DCW recruitment scam, the sources said that the ACB would question Sisodia on a letter that his office issued about the financial autonomy of the DCW.

A source has been quoted by a leading daily as saying, “During the examination of the documents, the ACB found that there was a letter from the office of Sisodia that had authorized DCW as a body with financial autonomy. As per rules, only the LG can grant financial autonomy to a body. ACB will be questioning him on this aspect.”

The Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) is probing the alleged recruitment scam on the complaint filed by the former DCW chairperson Barkha Singh Shukla, who is a Congress leader and was predecessor of Swati Maliwal’s at the women’s panel.

Shukla has alleged that AAP workers has been appointed at DCW to provide them financial benefits. On the complaint, ACD registered an FIR under Prevention of Corruption Act as well as under section 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant) of IPC.
