20-year-old woman was hit by train at Santacruz railway track

A 20-year-old girl jumped on Santacruz railway track on Sunday night to threaten her boy friend with suicide. The girl did not notice the train and darting train knocked her down almost instantly and the girl was immediately rushed to Cooper Hospital.

As per cops, Witnesses who saw the incident said that they saw the girl and a young man arguing with each other on the bridge at the middle of the station premises on Sunday night.

The incident took place around 9.30 pm where the girl and her boy friend went down to platform number 4-5 and they continued their argument again. The girl later leapt down on the tracks threatening there friend that she would end her life. Right at the time where a fast trains zip by without a halt has been approached near to her and when the motorman blew the horn, the girl panicked, confused as to which side to run.

The girl tried to get on the platform but the speeding train hit her on the left side and her body was through around 20 feet away on the platform and seeing the incident her friend ran away from the incident place.

A Bandra railway police officer said, “From her appearance, the girl seemed to be from a well-to-do family. Nothing was found on her, not even her shoes; maybe everything was scattered following the train’s impact. We have circulated her photo at several places, but haven’t got a lead yet. Her friend is nowhere to be found. Anyone known to the girl should inform the Bandra railway police and take possession of the body, or contact the police at 022-26422047.”
