Voter in Mumbai complained to EC about NaMo pens inside polling booth

On October 15 Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections were held and the violation of the election code took place according to a voter in Bandra (West at the St Andrew’s School centre during polling hours.

The voter, who has chosen to remain unknown, said that he found BJP’s polling agents inside the booth using pens which clearly displayed the BJP logo as well as a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he went to polling center on Wednesday.

“On voting day, BJP’s polling agents seated in every classroom had pens that had the party symbol — a lotus embossed on it, along with the words, ‘NAMO-NAMO’. In spite of the matter being reported to the officials, the pens were used from 7 am to 5 pm,” he alleged.

As per election code any worker or candidate from any political party should not promote their party or their candidates within 100 metres of the polling centre. He had complained regarding this to the election officer in charge and the presiding officer at each of the assigned polling rooms.
