Venkaiah Naidu Slammed Congress For Criticizing PM Modi’s New Balochistan-PoK Strategy

Union minister Venkaiah Naidu has slammed the Congress for criticizing PM Modi’s new Balochistan-PoK strategy and said that Congress have always been inconsistent over Pakistan policy.

Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday said, “What’s consistent about the Congress party’s policy on Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir is inconsistency. Why is Congress trying to exonerate Pakistan? I appeal them to be sensitive, realistic, and act and speak accordingly. The Congress has again displayed insensitivity on the J&K issue, its statement smell of political opportunism.”

Earlier on Wednesday, former financial minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said that J&K was ‘sliding into total chaos’. He further added, “The statements of the Prime Minister, Home minister, and Defense minister have exacerbated the crisis. Moderation in words and actions alone can retrieve the situation.”

He also said, “The Congress, National Conference and, if willing, the PDP must come together to find a solution: Firstly, an immediate solution to stop violence and, then, a path forward that will bring hope, peace and prosperity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Another senior party leader Salman Khurshid said that Modi’s policy shift highlighting Balochistan and PoK- is “that of a novice”.

Even thought the senior party leaders are criticizing PM Modi’s strategy, Congress party has dismissed both the remarks by saying that the remarks are personal views of the leaders and has maintained that Pakistan’s atrocities must be highlighted and that the new strategic shift of the government is worth applauding.
