According to a newly published study, top reason for the divorce in couple’s relationships has been proved. According to psychologist, John Gottman, contemptuous acts significantly increase the probability your marriage will end in divorce.

John and his team, at Gottman Institute, studied and analyzed behavior of married couples for 40 years, reports said.

At the conclusion of the research, John was able to find his “Four Horseman of the Apocalypse” or the four signs your marriage is most likely be ruined.

John Gottman said, “The strongest of these horseman is contempt.”

“Apparently, expressing contempt for your partner through acts like eye-rolling, sarcasm and name-calling is a major relationship killer,” he added.

The three other things indicating thing are not working out are Criticism, Defensiveness and stonewalling or shutting off from your partner.

According to psychologists, the first step in curing these behaviors is being aware of them. They have also said that the couples should concentrate more on correcting way to show respect to your partner instead of making sarcastic or cruel comments.
