US Open: Sania Mirza Knocked Out Of Women’s Doubles

Indian Tennis star Sania Mirza has been knocked out of the women’s doubles event at US Open after facing a defeat against Carolina Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic in straight sets, in quarter-finals of the US Open in New York.

The French pair defeated Sania Mirza and her Czech partner Barbara Strycova in straight sets, 7-6(7-3), 6-1 in a match which lasted for only 69-minutes.

Strycova and Mirza lost the first set 7-6 in just 45 minutes as they lost a service in mini-service break.

The second set was quite easy for the French pair as they took an unbeaten 5-0 lead at the initial stage before finishing the match 6-1.

Earlier, Indian star tennis players, Rohan Bopanna, Leander Paes and Saketh Myneni have already lost their respective matches and have been ousted from the tournament.
