Linonel Messi Announes Retirement From International Football As Chile Beat Argentina In Copa America Final

According to the reports, a legendary football player of Argentina has announced retirement from the international football after Chile defeated Argentina in Copa America final by4-2 in penalty shootouts.

Lionel Messi who was looking extremely disheartened by the loss at the final in an interview to TyC sports Argentina said he would no longer play for the national team.

Although it seems that the loss is the reason behind his sudden announcement, it has a different background too. Recently Messi had posted a picture on Instagram and captioned it “What a disaster the AFA are. My god!!!” He had said he would speak to AFA about his concerns after Copa America ended, when asked about the post the next day.

It clearly shows that he has some differences with the country’s national board.

Messi, who debuted from Argentina on 2005 and a star at a club team of Spain’s Barcelona FC, has not been able to win a big title for the national team. He was playing in his 113th game at the final of Copa America 2016.

Earlier, Chile defeated Argentina at Copa America final in a similar fashion of the last year. Match was 0-0 after 120 minutes and shootout was called for the result. Chile scored 4 against Argentina’s 2 much similar to a last year’s game and registered a second win in a row at the prestigious final.

Argentina players were disheartened after their third big title loss after loosing to Germany in World Cup 2014 and defeated by Chile in the previous Copa America final.
