India Vs England Test Series: India Go One Up After Winning Vizag Test

Through an all round performance Team India has managed to dominate the English players in the Vizag Test and won it by a huge margin of 246 runs. With the win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series after the Rajkot Test finished with no result.

On the fifth and final day, England resumed their innings with overnight score of 87 for 2, however, no English batsman can really stand in front of the three spinners, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Jayant Yadav. England’s second innings ended on 158 in 97.3 overs. England team were chasing a mammoth target of 405 runs.

Although the English batsmen tried to keep their cool and went very slowly towards to draw, wickets in regular intervals caused a huge loss to the England team. After Alaister Cook, Johnny Bairstow, continuing his form from the first innings, played well.

Indian spinners R Ashwin and Jayant Yadav took 3 wickets each and pacer Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets each.

Virat Kohli, who scored massive 167 in the first innings and 81 in the second was elected as the Man of the Match.

The third Test of the series will commence from November 26 in Mohali.
