The biopic on the life of India Cricket team’s most successful captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, MS Dhoni The Untold Story has earned Rs. 112 crore since its release on September 30, according to the reports. The filmmakers have claimed that the movie has become the biggest earning biopic in Indian Cinema.
Reports said that the movie collected Rs. 3.40 crore on Monday (October 10), taking its total to Rs. 112.70 crore.
The CEO of Fox Star Studios, Vijay Singh, who has produced he film, in a statement said, “MS Dhoni - The Untold Story is now the highest earning biopic ever made (in Indian cinema). This goes to show the love people have for Mahi and how they have been discovered, adopted and promoted the film.We are truly humbled with the response from his fans, cricket lovers and movie audiences alike.”
The statement also said that the demand for the shows have increased despite big releases such as Mirzya and Tutak Tutak Tutiya.
The film, which has been directed by Neeraj Pandey, stars Sushant Singh Rajput in title role. It also features, Kiara Advani, Disha Patani and Anupam Kher in important roles.
