Arvind Kejriwal Says AAP Does Not Have Funds To Fight Elections

Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party president Arwind Kejriwal, on Sunday, while speaking a group of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes members in South Goa said that despite running the Delhi government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) does not have funds to fight elections.

He said, “It would look odd but it is true that despite a one-and-half year of governance in Delhi, AAP does not have money to fight election. I can show you my bank account, even party does not have money.”

The party has already started campaigning for upcoming Punjab and Goa Assembly elections, although the AAP national convener said, “When we contested in Delhi, it is the people who fought the election. AAP is a platform for everyone to fight for their better future.”

Kejriwal said that the similar situation should be in Goa and common people should fight the election and added that if the party gets in power in the state, there will not be a ‘high-command’ culture.

He said, “Goans will govern in Goa. That is why even the (poll) manifesto is being drafted by Goans. I will not dictate manifesto, people of Goa will decide.”

While claiming that the the current rampant sale of narcotics in Goa is due to the the nexus between drug peddlers, policemen and politicians, who has kept the trade alive, and said, “If the state government wants, the drugs can stop in Goa in next one hour.”
