Syrian Attacker Triggered Blast In Germany; 12 Injured

According to the reports, a bomb carried by a 27-year-old Syrian migrant exploded outside country’s music festival in Ansbach killing the man as well as injuring 12 people on Sunday. Reports said, earlier, the attacker had been denied asylum in Germany a year ago.

Joachim Herrmann, Bavaria interior minister, said that the man had tried to commit suicide twice before. He further added that it was still unclear if he had planned to commit suicide or take others with him to death. He further added that the attacker had been denied entry into the Ansbach Open music festival before the explosion.

Police said that soon after the explosion around 2,000 people were evacuated from the from the festival. In the area of around 40,000 people, the large area around the restaurant called Eugens Weinstube, where the explosion occurred, remained sealed off after the explosion.

Earlier, on Sunday a Syrian migrant who attacked the passengers in a train in the country with an axe, had injured five people before being shot dead by the police  Terrorist organization Islamic State had claimed the responsibility for the attack.

However, police have added that Sunday’s machete attack as well as Friday’s shooting at Munich have not been found associated with Islamic State or other militant groups.
