Police had employed strict security at the most gate preventing non-students from getting into. There have been heated arguments between police and CPI leaders who accompanied  Kumar as police did not permit them in.

Kanhaiya , when landing in the city, cursed  the govt for blowing up the problem at JNU (of `anti-national' slogans) solely to divert attention from Rohith's suicide and its aftermath.
